Meet the Filmmakers
On December 8, 1990 a communications major with a desire to make movies married a schoolteacher with a passion for writing and directing drama. A decade later, they combined their unique talents and produced their first Mainstreet Productions feature film.
Since then Fred and Sharon Wilharm have produced seven narrative features, a historical documentary, and countless smaller projects. Their motion pictures have screened in theaters across the country, aired on numerous television networks and sold across the globe. They distinguished themselves by producing two silent features, one of which was included in the AMC Independent lineup and screened at select AMC theaters including AMC Empire at Times Square.
The Wilharm's filmmaking efforts have been recognized with dozens of accolades including the "Shibboleth Award" for Visionary Leadership in the Field of Christian Film Making" and four Crown Awards including Silver "Best Picture".
Now, recognized as experts in their fields, they participate in film panels, teach filmmaking workshops, and train the next generation of award-winning filmmakers.
